I love the early photos of DuBois. So many of the pictures of him that I saw growing up depicted DuBois as the elder statesman of Black liberation, with the Van Dyke beard, usually in profile.
These early pictures just make him seem so much more real to me (for lack of a better word). Bet he was one of the best dressed men at Fisk!
